Brad Arkin, VP and Chief Security Officer, Adobe Systems

Brad Arkin is Vice President and Chief Security Officer for Adobe. As CSO, Arkin is responsible for all security-related decisions and investments across the company. Arkin leads the teams responsible for the security of Adobe’s enterprise environment as well as customer-facing infrastructure, products and services, including security monitoring/incident response and communication. Prior to joining Adobe, Arkin held management positions at Symantec, @Stake and Cigital. Arkin holds a BS in computer science and math from the College of William and Mary, an MS in computer science from George Washington University, and an MBA from Columbia University and London Business School.

He shares his expertise with other entrepreneurs each week as a leading Shark on ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit show Shark Tank.

Ralston Simmons

Ralston Simmons – CISO, William Blair & Company

Ralston Simmons is the chief information security officer for William Blair, responsible for managing cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices to protect the firm’s information systems. Before joining William Blair, Mr. Simmons was head of IT governance, risk, and compliance for U.S Cellular in Chicago. He also led information security programs at CommScope, Inc. and Andrew Corporation. Mr. Simmons received his MBA from Loyola University of Chicago and his bachelor’s degree from Butler University in computer information systems/business management.

Justin Somaini – Chief Security Officer, SAP

Justin Somaini heads the SAP Global Security (SGS) in the board area of Products & Innovation. With more than 17 years of information security experience, he is responsible for SAP’s overall security strategy, ensuring that SAP and our customers have a consistent and convenient security experience and establishing SAP as a recognized and trusted leader in the industry. In his role Justin develops, implements, and manages SAP’s overall policies, standards, and guidelines in accordance with the SAP Security Strategy as well as ongoing SAP security initiatives to meet the emerging international IT and cyber security environments and data protection and privacy laws worldwide. Before joining SAP in 2015, Justin was Chief Trust Officer at Box, the world’s leading enterprise software platform for content collaboration. Prior to Box, Justin held the role of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Yahoo!, driving security planning and operations for the company. Prior to Yahoo!, he was CISO of Symantec. He developed the company’s Information Security Enterprise Risk Management process, worked cross-functionally to manage critical incidents to resolution, and drove implementation of controls for both a significant threat environment and regulatory needs. In addition to his roles at Yahoo! and Symantec, Justin was Director of Information Security at Verisign and an advisor to Qualys, Palo Alto Networks, Sentinel Labs, SourceClear, Solve Media, and others. Justin holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Drexel University, Philadelphia. He serves as a Venture Advisor at YL Ventures.

Alex Kassirer

Alex Kassirer – Senior Counterterrorism analyst at Flashpoint

Alex is a Senior Counterterrorism analyst at Flashpoint and on-air analyst for NBC. She has assisted law enforcement and intelligence agencies in terrorism investigations and prosecutions, and consults private sector organizations on both physical and cyber security. Ms. Kassirer has presented to various audiences, including law enforcement, on monitoring and addressing the threat that stems from jihadists. Ms. Kassirer holds an MS in Global Affairs with a concentration in Transnational Security from New York University and BA in International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict & Security and a minor in Religion from the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University, where she also studied Arabic.

Chris Camacho – Chief Strategy Officer, Flashpoint

Chris Camacho partners with Flashpoint’s executive team to develop, communicate, and execute strategic initiatives pertaining to Business Risk Intelligence (BRI). With over 15 years of cybersecurity leadership experience, he has spearheaded initiatives across Operational Strategy, Incident Response, Threat Management, and Security Operations to ensure cyber risk postures align with business goals. Most recently as a Senior Vice President of Information Security at Bank of America, Mr. Camacho was responsible for overseeing the Threat Management Program. An entrepreneur, Mr. Camacho also serves as CEO for NinjaJobs: a career-matching community for elite cybersecurity talent. He has a BS in Decision Sciences & Management of Information Systems from George Mason University.

Nathaniel Gleicher – Head of Cybersecurity Strategy, Illumio

As head of Cybersecurity Strategy, Nathaniel is responsible for thought leadership, public engagement, and overseeing Illumio’s cybersecurity technology strategy. Nathaniel is a regular speaker at leading industry events, and his writing has appeared in industry publications, the popular press, and academic journals.

Prior to Illumio, Nathaniel investigated and prosecuted domestic and international cybercrime at the U.S. Department of Justice, advised the South Korean government on technology policy, and served as director for cybersecurity policy on the National Security Council at the White House. Nathaniel received a B.S. in computer science from the University of Chicago and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He has served as a Peace Corps volunteer on the island of Saint Vincent and as a Luce Scholar based in Seoul, South Korea.

Suresh Sridharan – Product Marketing, CA

Suresh Sridharan is part of CA’s Product Marketing team responsible for Privileged Access Management & Threat Analytics. He comes to CA from Gigya, where he was part of their Product & Technology Strategy efforts. Suresh has close to 20 years of industry experience of which 11 years have been in the Identity and Access Management space having worked at companies such as Okta, Oracle and Sun Microsystems. Prior to Product Management and Product Marketing, Suresh was part of engineering teams at Rational Software, Gemplus Corporation (now Gemalto) and mFormation Technologies.

Suresh has a Masters in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University, Dallas and an MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

Chris Forbes is the Chief Information Security Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and has over 35 years’ management experience in IT, Security and Technology Risk for Financial Services companies and the US Military. Chris previously worked for BNP Paribas, BNY Mellon, JPMorgan Chase, DaimlerChrysler, AXA, Allianz, and Citigroup. Chris holds a MBA from Walsh College, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information System Controls (CRISC), and Project Management Profession (PMP).

Jay Gonzales – CISO, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. 

Jay Gonzales is CISO at Samsung Semiconductor. He previously served as Risk Manager, Global Cyber Security at Hewlett-Packard, where he performed risk assessments of all HP Business Group IT initiatives to ensure cost-benefit analyses were conducted to support business IT investments. Prior to HP, he was a Digital Forensic Examiner with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in Okinawa Japan, and served as an Information Systems Security Manager with the Department of the Navy, Civil Service. He holds a BS, Information Technology Management from National University.

Patrick Beggs is Sr. Manager Security Technology, Amazon Web Services. He previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Information Security-Cyber Insider Threat Response at Bank of America. Prior to Bank of America, he served as Director of Operations-National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Director, Cyber Security Evaluations-National Cyber Security Division at the Department of Homeland Security, where he oversaw a government program to perform critical cyber security evaluations and assessments of public and private sector facilities across all 18 Critical Infrastructure Key Resources (CIKR) sectors.

Christian Adam – VP of Information Security, Experian

Christian Adam is VP of Information Security at Experian. Prior to joining Experian, he served as Director of Information Security at BlackRock. Prior to BlackRock he served as VP, Technology Risk at Goldman Sachs, and VP of Information Security at Barclays Capital. From 2002 to 2007, he served as VP of Information Security at Lehman Brothers.

Sean Cunningham joined Trident Capital Cybersecurity in 2015 from Intel Capital. Trident Capital had known Sean Cunningham for more than a decade having worked closely together with him since 2005 as co-investors in TriCipher (acquired by VMware); Solera Networks (acquired by BlueCoat); AlienVault and HyTrust. While at Trident Capital Cybersecurity Mr. Cunningham has invested in Appthority and ID Experts and on their Board of Directors. In addition to the four companies in which he co-invested with Trident, Cunningham invested in 18 companies unaffiliated with Trident. Among those that exited successfully were Accertify (acquired by American Express), Crossbeam Systems (acquired by Blue Coat Systems), Signacert (acquired by Harris Corp), Cloakware (acquired by Irdeto), Zone Labs (acquired by Checkpoint Software) and Perspecsys (acquired by Blue Coat Systems). Sean joined Intel in 1994 and worked in multiple management roles in Marketing and Sales. He had been making equity investments with Intel Capital since 2000, and was Director of Strategic Investments where he was responsible for enterprise and Internet security technology investments. As a member of the Intel New Business Initiative, Cunningham managed the sales and channel marketing group responsible for Intel AnswerExpress. Previously Sean worked for Sequent Computers and ISC Systems. Cunningham holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Gonzaga University.

Muddu Sudhakar (Twitter: @smuddu) was VP & GM of Big Data, Machine Learning/AI, Security and IoT, Splunk.  At Splunk Muddu worked on applications of AI/Machine learning, Big data platform, Thin & Thick App development platform, Open source technologies, IoT Analytics solutions and Cyber Security products. Before that Muddu was CEO of Caspida, a leader in next-generation Cyber Security & Threat detection using Machine learning. Muddu was VP & GM at VMware and Pivotal from 2012 to 2014 for Big Data Analytics, Machine learning and Cloud Services. Muddu was co-founder and CEO of Cetas which was acquired by VMware in 2012.  At EMC Muddu was Chief Strategy Advisor, VP & GM for Cloud Information Services. Muddu work involved Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Information Services at EMC. Muddu was CEO & Founder of Kazeon from 2003 to 2010 which was acquired by EMC. Muddu led Kazeon to be a leader in Information Security, eDiscovery, and Enterprise Search markets.  Before Kazeon, he was Co-founder & President of Sanera Systems, a next-generation SAN technology company. Sanera was acquired by McData (Brocade) in 2003. From 1996 to 2000, Sudhakar was lead architect and designer of CPU and server technology at Silicon Graphics, Inc. He holds a PhD and MS in Computer Science from University of California, Los Angeles and a BS in Electronics & Communications Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.  He has more than 25 patents in Cyber Security, Big data analytics, Machine learning, Analytics, Cloud Services, SaaS Apps, Enterprise Search, Information Management, Distributed systems, Storage technologies, SAN/NAS, Server technologies, Virtualization, Search, Information security, Networking technology and VLSI chip design.

Tim Jefferson – VP of Public Cloud, Barracuda Networks

Tim Jefferson serves as VP, Public Cloud for Barracuda. He is responsible for the strategy and business development around Barracuda’s public cloud offerings, which are currently deployable in AWS, Azure, and the Google Cloud platform. Prior to joining Barracuda, he served as Head of Business Development, Security and Networking at Amazon Web Services where he led go-to-market initiatives for AWS security and networking services. Previously at AWS, he worked on the AWS Alliance and Partner Ecosystem to develop global ISV and consulting partner strategy to successfully align with AWS customer use cases. Jefferson has more than 15 years’ experience in the high-tech industry spanning leadership roles in operations, product development, marketing, and sales. Jefferson is a graduate of the University of California Santa Barbara where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hydrologic sciences.

Lou Ann McFadden  – Director of Management and CIO, Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA).  

Mrs. McFadden currently serves as the Director of Management and the Chief Information Officer for the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA).  DTSA plays a critical role in international transfers of defense-related items and technologies from the United States Government.  The Management Directorate develops, operates, and maintains private networks and applications for international visits, foreign disclosure, export licensing, and international arms cooperation.  These applications are used throughout the Departments of Defense, State, Commerce, Energy, and Homeland Security.  Mrs. McFadden holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri; a Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University; and a Masters of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College.  She is a member of the California State Bar Association.

Gregory Barber – CISO, Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA)

Gregory Barber is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the Defense Technology Security Administration (DTSA). As CISO, he develops, implements and manages DTSA’s Cybersecurity Program. Mr. Barber retired from the United States Air Force after 21 years of distinguished service. Prior to joining the Federal Government, he held leadership and supervisory roles at Fortune 500 Companies (i.e., Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, ManTech). Mr. Barber earned a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management and Dual Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) and Cybersecurity Management and Policy from University of Maryland University College.

Joel Fulton – CISO, Splunk

Joel Fulton is Chief Information Security Officer of Splunk, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a strategic, comprehensive enterprise security and risk management program to ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information owned, controlled or processed by Symantec. Joel began and led a security consulting practice for ten years before building and leading security and risk management teams at Starbucks, Boeing, Google, and Symantec.
